Update from PPA on H.4267
Good news from the Poker Players Alliance . This arrived by way of e-mail and I thought I’d pass it along.
“The Economic Development, Capital Improvement and Other Taxes Subcommittee of the South Carolina House Ways and Means Committee PASSED, with bi-partisan support and by a 4 to 1 margin, H.4267, a bill that would legalize home poker games and also expand charity gaming (including charity poker tournaments).
H.4267 is heading to the full Ways and Means Committee for a vote TODAY, April 14th, and the PPA needs you to voice your support right away. This bill represents an historic change in the out-dated South Carolina gaming statute that criminalizes poker, even in the privacy of your own home.”
Folk, it’s past time to get the old laws that were placed into effect in 1802 off the books and get South Carolina in line with the rest of the nation. Let our politicians know that this is a free country and we do not care to have the State or even the Federal Government tell us what we can or can’t play in our homes !
