Things To Do On A Rainy Day
Today it’s a rainy day on the coast of South Carolina, but that’s OK by me. There’s always plenty to do on days like this if you ask me. Just kicking back in the recliner and reading a good book (be it a strategy book on poker, or something by the horror master, Stephen King) with the sounds of the rains beating down on the decks is something I find quite relaxing. And as the old saying goes, reading is knowledge, and knowledge is power.
Back before my knees got so bad the wife and I would go to town and take a look around in the malls, maybe even take a stroll on the beach between the rain showers. I always have thought the beaches looked their best on a wet day. My dad (may he rest in peace)and I used to even go surf fishing on the rainy days…fish always do seem to bite better on a rainy day.
These days a man don’t do too much walking though, so I just stick close to home. That’s OK though, for there is always something to do.
That’s one of the big conveniences of the Internet. A man or woman can always go online and kill some time by finding themselves a game of Texas Hold’em poker, or what ever their choice of game is ,regardless of the time of day or night. Yep, sometimes that even beats the hell out of having a crowd over for a home game.
Think I’m just going to just pour me a tall glass of iced tea, maybe light up a cigar, and play some poker ….think I’ll save the reading for later in the day.
