OUCH!! fantasy DL

As the 2010 season grinds on, the physical nature of the game begins to take its toll. Not  a physical game you say?? Considering that there are over 100 players currently on the disabled list, I would have to disagree. The dangers are clear, pitchers throwing 95 mph+, pitching inside to regain the outside corners, Batters that are stronger and faster than ever before, player to player collisions, “taking out” second basemen and shortstops on double play balls, and of course, the dreaded, being mobbed by team mates as you cross home plate after hitting a walk off granny!!

Sounds ridiculous right? That is exactly what happened to Kendry Morales (LAANG 1B/RF). A team celebration at home plate cost him at least a month of his season, most likely more ( Broken legs take a while to heal from what ican remember). Unfortunate timing for Morales as he was enjoying one of the best seasons oofhis career!!  Hitting .290 with 11 yardballs, 39 driven, and 29 crossed, quite a blow to Kendry and to my personal fantasy line up!! Get well soon, dunno how long i can keep ya DL!!

On to better news!! Andre Eithier (LADOG OF) has returned from the 15 day ouch list, although the broken finger is still splinted, he claims it is not as painful “just sore” he claims. hmmm, guess time will tell, I personally held on to him for his numbers. A rather impressive season this far, Andre is hitting .392, with 11 dingers, 39 ribs, and 25 scored, looks like he is lined up for a great season!! Welcome Back Andre!!

Now here is one I find suspicious. John Maine (NYMETS SP). With  record of 1-3, an embarrassing 6.13 earned and WHIP of 1.8+, I find it a  bit unusual the Metropolitantook this opportunity to place John on the DL with what they are calling “Right arm fatigue” and precursing it with “precautionary”. Excuse my french but WTF is that!??! The translation, to me, is they DLed him because his Right arm might get tired!! Gotta love those silly Mets!!

Unrelated to injuries, a tip of the cap to Ray Halladay (PHIPHI SP), for throwing just the 20th perfect game in MLB history!! Iironically he needed it as Josh Johnson (FLAMAR SP) allowed no earned runs in his losing effort!! Another tip of the cap to Ubaldo Jimenez (COLROCK SP), for lowering his ERA to an outstanding 0.84, in one of the leagues hitter friendliest parks!! Well done guys!!

I trust we all did well in our fantasy leagues Yours truly took down another head to head 6-3-1 (couldn’t get just one more K!! lol), and holding steady at roto with 78 yahoo and 69 (ESPN). Wishing you all monster scoring, and most of all have fun!!
